All of our residents and fellows are encouraged to use a handheld computer. New purchasers are encouraged to check out new models since the technology is rapidly changing. The most important rules for medical users are to get lots of memory and expandability to accommodate large medical databases. I personally recommend the Palm OS for usability and software reasons.
We now have a departmental handheld web support site available. This delivers important clinical information. This is accessed by Palm OS, Windows CE, and Pocket PC handheld computers using AvantGo. AvantGo is a free service which delivers handheld content which is updated every time you sync your handheld. It works with PC's and Macs. To sign up for this departmental service, click on the button below. You will be taken to the AvantGo site where you will have to establish a free account if you have not already done so.
